RCB Bank by Pavlos Kontides for his "Athletic Responsibility" project #TowardsTokyo
19.09.2019
RCB Bank, one of the major sponsors of Olympic Sailor Pavlos Kontides, was again today by his side supporting the athlete in his pioneering "Athletic Responsibility " initiative entitled #TowardsTokyo, which reiterates Pavlos’ sincere interest in Cypriot sports and social responsibility.
At a press conference, in the presence of the great athlete, Head of RCB’s Branch Network Kyriacos Michaelides expressed pride in both Pavlos Kontides' outstanding sports and social performance. “Sport is mainly a social phenomenon and so this project of "Athletic Responsibility" is a unique one, it highlights Pavlos’ huge sensitivity on social issues, one of Olympic dimensions, and in particular, his devotion to support other athletes”, Kyriacos Michaelides said.
The Cypriot Olympian provided details of the #TowardsTokyo program, an initiative of his own that aims to raise funds for three to five athletes representing Cyprus at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
The aim of the initiative is to provide the best possible preparation for athletes and, by extension, the most dynamic presence of Cyprus in the biggest sporting event of the four years. The money will come from sales of Pavlos Kontides' official products, which were unveiled on Thursday and will be sold through www.pksailingshop.com.
The initiative was welcomed by representatives of the major sponsors and supporters of Pavlos.
