RCB Bank and Olympic Sailor Pavlos Kontides launch new Sponsorship Cooperation
28.07.2017

RCB Bank and Olympic sailor Pavlos Kontides launched here today a new sponsorship deal, confirming a strong relationship of mutual trust, which aims at the ultimate goal of the great successes of Cypriot sport.
Speaking at a press conference at the Olympic House in Nicosia, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of RCB Bank Panayiotis Loizides said that being associated with Pavlos Kontides, the first Cypriot athlete ever to win an Olympic medal and now ranked number two in the world (Men's Laser) gives a lot of pride to the Bank and helps the athlete in “his enormous effort to keep Cyprus athletics at such high standards".
RCB’s Chairman referred to RCB's commitment to the sustainable development of the society and support to vulnerable groups. As stated, the active support of charities, major cultural events, the arts, health services, sports and the environment as well as help to social groups is the backbone of the Bank's corporate social responsibility program.
"It is an honor for me to be the choice of one of the largest, most reliable and stable banking organizations in our country", said Pavlos Kontides, adding that it is a relationship of mutual trust which started before several years and is now being strengthened even more.
Referring to the importance of RCB Bank's support, the Olympic medallist said that “thanks to this help I can live most of the time in Croatia, where I train with some of the best athletes and one of the best coaches in the world, having at my disposal technologically advanced means and equipment".
Kontides further noted that the relationship with RCB Bank is two-way one: "With RCB’s logo on the cloth of my board, we travel together in the seas of the whole world, raising the flag of Cyprus on the road to another Olympic distinction, the fourth Olympic Games of my career, in Tokyo 2020".
He finally expressed the certainty that RCB Bank will continue to bring him good luck as it has done so far and that "together we will write new gold pages in the book of successes of Cypriot sport".
